One of the rides which everyone went on was the “WipeOut”. It was one where you go in a circle, sometimes at quite an angle, sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards, and sometimes really, really fast (in which the person on the outside gets squished). We ended up with lots of pictures of Wipeout rides, so here are a bunch of them.

On this Saturday afternoon Mikeala and I were taking a walk in the next door park. We came upon huge patches of clover, and we kept seeing beautiful flowers and picking them until we had a bouquet full of wildflowers. We talked about how God can make such little details, and how thankful we are for them.

One day when Layne and Elissa were visiting, around 3:00 Layne, Elissa, and I were sitting by the pool sketching while Layne was on his computer. I finally decided to sketch Layne although I knew it would turn out awful since I’m not the best at drawing so I began to sketch. Layne laughed when he saw it but hey, at least it captures the real Layne.

On the Friday before Valentine’s Day, we participated in a church sponsored progressive dinner for couples, being the final stop, serving desserts.  Being inspired by the photo booth at Grandpa and Grandma’s 50th anniversary party, we decided (the day before) to do something similar.  We happen to have a lot of dressup clothes for girls, ladies, Knights, monkeys, dogs and M&M’s – but not a lot of dressup clothes and props for grown men.  So we scrambled for props, and managed to come up with a few.  Meanwhile, Danaya and Daelynn were focused on making the desserts to serve our guests.  They baked up a wonderful set of desserts including cheesecake, creampuffs, a chocolate caramel flan, and something else I think.  We realized after that we missed taking a picture of the food layout.

Here are some pictures of our kids (with friends) taking advantage of the photo booth setup and props.

it is starting to be springish here in Houston, and I’ve been out doing some yard work.  In our front yard there is a section which used to have a couple of large trees in it (as you can see in this picture from Google street view).

Here is what that part of our yard (to the right of the driveway) currently looks like.

One of the things that we’ve done in that area is planting a couple of peach trees.  It will be at least a couple of years until we get any peaches, but here is a picture of one of them with some blooms on it.

This one had blooms on it when we purchased it so, We can’t lay claims to having green thumbs yet.  We also planted some raspberries and grapes in the back yard, and are also hoping to plant a lemon and a pomegranate tree as well.

This post is looking back to Grandpa and Grandma Huber’s visit to us in Cypress, Texas in January of 2014. Memory fades somewhat, but they flew down and hung out with us for a couple of weeks. Grandpa did a lot of pruning and cutting wild vegetation in the yard. Grandma spent a lot of time enjoying the kids. We also went on a couple of trips, and played some board games. Enjoy the pics and the memories.

I took some video clips on our trip to Yellowstone National Park in August 2014. It was a low end video camera and I think the SD card that I had in it wasn’t fast enough, so I was getting buffer issues. Consequently, there’s some footage (like Old Faithful erupting) that I missed. Anyhow, here is a montage of my video clips of the geysers that we saw on that fateful day in August.

I’m trying to push the total number of posts on Hubcrate.com to the grand milestone of 200. So, here is post 199, spot the out of place lizard…

One of the really popular locations at Grandpa and Grandma’s 50th anniversary celebration was the photo booth. The idea was pure genius. All manner of props and clothes were provided (although more accessories were available for the fairer sex) and pictures were taken of anyone willing to dress up and pose. It was a busy place all evening long.
Here are some of the pictures with Ben Huber family members in them. For those of you reading who aren’t part of the larger Huber family, the other posers in the pictures are all cousins. Without further introduction (or captioning as this latest version of WordPress for the iPad doesn’t do that easily, or I’m too lazy), here are the pictures to enjoy.
